What is a “Dash Of Bitters?”

A dash of bitters is not a drop of bitters.
Adding a dash of bitters to a cocktail or mocktail

A “dash” is about 15 drops or 1 squeeze of the bulb of the dropper top. It should fill the dropper half way up.

If you have a large bottle of bitters with no glass dropper, 1 shake of the bottle over a drink is a dash.

Dashes not Drops

A dash of bitters is not a drop of bitters. Bitters are strong but not that strong.

A “dash” is about 15 drops or 1 squeeze of the bulb of the dropper. It should fill the dropper half way up.

If you have a larger bottle with no glass dropper, 1 shake of the bottle over a drink is a dash.

For a balanced cocktail, use dashes not drops.
